License Explainer
Last updated: June 2026
This license explainer summarises the key usage rights for screenings from the Inter-Pathé archive. The individual order confirmation and rental agreement always prevail.
Public screening
The standard rental licence permits one or more public screenings within the agreed period and at the named venue. Advertising and ticket sales must correctly credit the film title and source.
Educational and cultural events
Schools, universities, archives and cultural institutions benefit from reduced terms. Use is limited to the agreed educational or cultural purpose; any use beyond this requires separate approval.
Restrictions
Without express written approval, editing, sublicensing, streaming, recording, sharing copies with third parties and commercial use outside the rental agreement are prohibited.
